Keeping Perspective

In reading about the 3 icebergs that libraries face, I have to agree. We maintain "just in case collections" for the customers who do not use computers - want to put their hands on the book. As for a reliance on user education, we do need to fix the service and not the customer - it is much easier. It used to be true that the library was "the place" for information, now we have all manner of competition - so it behooves us to offer as many online sources as possible for our customers.
